The Institute of Petroleum Studies Kampala (IPSK) conducted it’s 5th Student Guild Handover Ceremony as the outgoing student guild leadership officially handed over the reins to the newly elected guild. The event was presided over by the Principal, Mr. James Mugerwa, and the Guest of Honor, Counsel Emmanuel Ekima.
In his address, Mr. Mugerwa underscored the importance of patience as a virtue for students navigating their academic journey. He emphasized that patience is essential for resilience and perseverance in the face of challenges. The Principal urged the outgoing guild to continue supporting the institution even in their new roles.
Counsel Emmanuel Ekima, in his keynote speech, urged the incoming guild to harness their leadership potential and contribute meaningfully to the student body. He encouraged them to take advantage of opportunities to participate in national student leadership organizations like the Uganda National Students Association (UNSA). Ekima highlighted the significance of student leadership in shaping the future of the country.
The highlight of the event was the official handover ceremony, where the outgoing guild president, Nagendo Tracy jean, symbolically passed the baton to the newly elected guild president, Natasha Nagasha Evelyne. Nagasha expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her and pledged to serve the student body with dedication and integrity.
