Field Study Trip to the Tilenga and Kingfisher Oil Operational Areas
From Thursday, October 16th to Sunday, October 19th, 2025, the we embarked on a field study tour to the Tilenga and Kingfisher oil operational areas located in the Albertine Graben.
The journey began with a comprehensive briefing session at the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) offices in Hoima. This orientation laid the groundwork for our exploration, offering critical insights into the regulatory framework and operational landscape before we ventured into the field.
This field study trip was designed to provide students with firsthand exposure to the dynamic developments unfolding in Uganda’s oil and gas sector. By visiting the Tilenga and Kingfisher operational areas, participants gained practical insights into the industry’s growth, challenges, and opportunities during its development phase.
